Viwango
Viwango is an independent Kenyan Civil Society Organization self-regulatory initiative. It exists to improve performance of CSOs through the promotion and application of minimum standards of excellence and voluntary independent certification.
How to get certified
One of the most complex challenges facing CSOs today is the question of their legitimacy and accountability as social actors to key stakeholders.
Standards
Standards describe a minimum level of performance. Standards provide benchmarks and targets intended to stimulate a process of quality improvement , upholding of common values and higher level of accomplishments .

The CSO OCAT tool describes four levels of development for each capacity area of the organisation.

Viwango has developed a set of 60 indicators upon which organisations will be assessed. They are categorized in eight standards as follows:
Organisational Culture and Leadership
The CSO has systems for management of information that gives guidance and knowledge.
Partnerships and External Relations
The CSO has policies to develop useful partnerships and manage external relationships.
Resource Mobilisation and resource utilization
The CSO is transparent in resource mobilisation and accountable in use of resources.
Identity
The CSO's vision, mission and values are clearly stated and written in all its key documents
